St Giles Canterbury/ The King’s School has a history dating back to 597 making it Britain’s oldest boarding school. The school is in the grounds of Canterbury Cathedral and St Augustine’s Abbey – both World Heritage Sites – right in the heart of the medieval town centre of Canterbury.
A stunning combination of modern 21st Century teaching, recreational and accommodation facilities mixes with the medieval College buildings and grounds making for a magical experience. Most classrooms include wi-fi and interactive whiteboards, while off-site sporting facilities include an indoor swimming pool, gym, tennis and squash courts, and outdoor playing fields

General English Course
General English course in Canterbury is ideal for 13-17 year olds international students looking to spend some time in the U.K. to rapidly improve their English.
The course consists of 15 English language lessons per week (50 minutes per lesson), in international classes of up to 15 students. All students take a placement test on their first day to ensure that they are placed at the correct level. Teachers are all university graduates with recognised TEFL certificates, and are extensively briefed on the particular needs of young learners
Week course includes:
- 15 English language lessons;
- an action packed afternoon programme of sports, visits and games;
- 1 full-day and 2 half-day excursions.
Standard General English plus Tennis
In addition to General English students are offered to take part in Sport Special Interest Option which includes 5 hours of tennis coaching per week from Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) professionals or fencing lessons from qualified instructors. It will help students get the most out of their summer.
Activities
Full afternoon and evening activity programme is organised in St Giles Canterbury and include a choice of sports (swimming, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, football) as well as other activities including movie nights, drum workshops, karaoke night, student discos, bowling and many more.
Full-day excursions include visits to London, Cambridge, Brighton and Windsor Castle, half-day excursions include visits to Leed's Castle and Drusilla's Zoo.

Главной нашей целью было улучшение английского языка во всех его аспектах. Цель была достигнута :)
Уроки английского проводятся каждый день, кроме Воскресенья и Четверга, по четыре урока в день, которые длятся по пятьдесят минут. Все преподаватели очень дружелюбные. По окончанию обучения выдают сертификат, где указан уровень английского ученика. Уровень Полины был С1+/С2.
St Giles Canterbury предоставляют хорошие условия проживания. Каждый учащийся располагает помимо кровати, шкафом и письменным столом. Комнаты есть одинарные, на двоих, на троих и на четверых человек. Еда в столовой вкусная. Сказала, что больше всего ей нравились булочки на завтрак.
По словам Полины, было очень весело и интересно обучаться в интернациональной группе. У неё в группе была девочка из Китая, итальянцы, испанцы, нидерландцы, швейцарцы. Полина познакомилась с Фемкой (Нидерланды), Хиби (Китай), Ирией (Испания), Филлипо (Италия), Рафаэль (Швейцария) и многими другими. Безусловно, общение с иностранцами помогает при изучении английского, ведь обычно это и есть тот язык, через который вы общаетесь. При общении узнаёшь много нового о другой культуре.
В свободное время Полина ходили с друзьями в город, где ходили по магазинам. Больше всего ей запомнилось, как она с друзьями ходили есть сладости в одном из кафе (Kaspa’s).
Самым ярким воспоминанием стала поездка в Кэмбридж. Они покатались на лодочках, прошлись по городу, сходили в музей и купили разные вещи.
Был в St. Giles Canterbury прошлым летом. Класс! Много мероприятий, экскурсий, учеба каждый день кроме выходных - скучать некогда. Очень хочу поехать опять.
